repeated four times under the optimal conditions in order
to find the suitable times to exhaust carotenoids from
R.sphaeroides.According to the data listed in Table 6,the
carotenoids yield from the first two extractions is evidently
higher than from the first extraction.The total yield does
not significantly increase when the third or the fourth
extractions are performed.If the total yield (6561 mg/g) of
carotenoids from four extractions is considered to be the
entire content of carotenoids in R.sphaeroides,then the
total yield of the first two extractions (6225 mg/g) occupied
94.89% of entire carotenoids content in R.sphaeroides,
indicating that two extractions will be enough to get a
maximal yield of carotenoids from R.sphaeroides
