这个句子,很简单. 问题在于 “as does the oldest child,” 这里用了两个逗号, 逗号里面是一个完全倒装, 为什么不是 as the oldest child does 呢? 而且为什么用逗号? 我问过老师, 老师只说 does 可以放在as和the之间也可以放在child 后面, 不明白.
sentence2： Extremely important to differentiating later children from first children is the extent to which direct identification with the parents is diluted for the latter children. 这个句子很难懂, 首先为什么用differentiating?不是用原型（在to后面）, 还有 the extent to which中 the extent to 是词组么 感觉这个to 很奇怪, 还有 which指代什么呢 identification又是什么意思? 能不能翻译或者paraphrase这个句子?!

以我的理
1.因为前面是否定,所以does可以到装,也可以放在后面；如果前面是肯定,必须放在后面.
2.to在这里应该是介词而不是不定式标志.
the extent to 不是词组,这个to 跟direct 组成词组direct...to表指向
